It is an undeniable fact that obesity is a major issues in the United States. With more than one-third of adults being obese and a plethora of chronic health conditions that result such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease, our healthcare costs are rising (â€Å"Overweight†). As a result, we must analyze the situation and determine the source of the problem. Junk food and other snacks that provide little nutritional value are accepted as a major contributor to the problem, especially for children who may be exposed to advertisements for junk food on television and at school. The first step in conquering the obesity epidemic is not banning junk food outright in schools. In the late 1920s Europe achieved a measure of economic recovery. However, all hope of political stability in Europe was shattered by the results of the depression that hit the United States in 1929.
